Sangram 9.0 : 20th & 21st December 2023
The Sports Committee of SSBF hosted the annual SANGRAM 9.0 event on the 20th and 21st of December 2023. The SANGRAM 9.0 event was a riveting display of talent, teamwork and sportsmanship among the students of SSBF. The event was successful in fostering a sense of unity and companionship accompanied by determination and zeal among the junior and senior batches. This year the SSBF Sports Committee included 3 additional events i.e Chess, Carrom and Pool in the event line up. The addition ensured an increase in the participation by the students.
SANGRAAM 8.0
On 7th and 8th December 2022, the Sports Committee at SSBF hosted Sangram 8.0 - The Ultimate Battle. Juniors and seniors were looking forward to witness an exciting faceoff. The first day of the event started with a morning walk from the fountain to Sandipani and then to the multipurpose ground where the main event was to be held. The Director and the staff were also a part of this walk. The main motive of this event was to break the ice between the two batches and inculcate the spirit of sportsmanship in all. In the event, there were different sports where seniors and juniors competed against each other to win the game.
Day 1 (7th December, 2022)- The event's first day began with football (which the seniors won), then volleyball (boys and girls), throwball, basketball, and badminton. The seniors won the majority of these games. Overall, the entire day was enjoyable and unforgettable.
Day 2 (8th December, 2022)- The event's second day began with athletics, which included a 100-meter, 200-meter, and four-by- 100-meter relay competition. In the boys' 100-meter athletics, Saikat, Rakshith, and Sachin placed first, second, and third, while Manasi Satpute took first place in the girls' 100-meter event.
Boys' winners in the 4*100 m relay race were Rakshith, Saikat, Angkur, and Raghu (seniors), while girls' winners in the race were Manasi Satpute, Vaishnavi Dhudhale, Anushka Mohite, and Varsha Alva (juniors).
Relay was followed by kho-kho, which was won by juniors Natasha, Varsha, Manasi,Vaishanavi, Bhavya,Pooja,Sneha,Anjali,Ritambhara,Mughdha, and Manasi Patole in the girls' division and by seniors Shreyash, Abhishek, Rudraksh, Shathi,Ayan,Sankalp, and Rakshith in the boys division.
Along with all these competitive games, there was one more game for faculty and staff and seniors and juniors to play together, showing love and respect toward each other after the battle "Box Cricket League", where teams were decided through players' auction.
Box Cricket League-
The last but a long-awaited part of the event was the Box Cricket League (BCL). This was just not
student-oriented, it also included our very own faculty with two different teams, who
played against each other.
Faculty Box Cricket League-
The mid-day faculty round of BCL was as exciting as
the other student-oriented sports. The participating teams
namely- Team Brahmastra and the Infinity played a match against each other. Just like their name,

Gokhale (captain),Amey Khare, Jitendra,Satish Manmode,Sujata Chorghe) used their ‘weapon of
strategies’ in the game to outwit their competitors and came out triumphantly as the winners of
BCL.
Student Box Cricket League-
The hours-long students’ BCL was conducted right
after the faculty round. The ten teamed match consisted
of-The Ocean Regal, The Kraken Knights, Hilltop Poseidons, The Gorgonians, Orcas, The Wild Sharks,
Symbi
Sealions, Asterias, Lavale Wave Runner and Atlantis as teams, who played against each other for 5
overs. The
Lavale Wave Runner appeared as the champions of the BCL and the Gorgonians as runner ups.
Overall, the two-day event was filled with good sportsmanship, enthusiasm, and memories that will be treasured. To conclude, the sports committee thanked everyone for their assistance and support by giving out the prizes for the event’s winners and mementos to the participants.
SANGRAAM 7.0
Day 1 : 10th December 2021
On 10th and 11th December ‘2021, The Sports Committee, at SSBF, hosted Sangram 7.0 - The Ultimate Battle. Both the batches were looking forward to witnessing an exciting faceoff between Seniors and Juniors. The first day of the event started with an opening ceremony to embark on the Seniors v/s Juniors custom. It was intended to break the ice between the two batches and uphold sportsmanship in all.
The momentous event began with a Volleyball faceoff (Boys), won by the Seniors. The team consisted of Jasraj, Rahul, Govind, Sayash, Rohan, Sanket, Vishal and Heet. Throwball (Girls) followed the same, wherein the junior team fell short to the senior squad of Mannat, Gunjan, Isha, Ria, Akshita, Vanshika, Asra, Nikita, and Aakriti.
After being warmed up by the team competitions, it was time to shine some light on the Individual competitions. Siddharth, Rakshith, and Shreyash ranked First, Second, and Third in the 100 meters athletics, respectively. Ria, Niharika and Aakriti scored the winning positions in the Girls’ 100 meters athletics.
The 200 meters athletics was conducted next which bore Rahul on first and Govind on the second position. On the other hand, Niharika and Aakriti, ranked first and second for the girl’s race. As the day ended, the Sports Team held league stage matches of BCL to keep the spirits high and get the excitement continued till the next day.
Overall, it was a happily exhausting day as the seniors won in Team games but the juniors did give them a hard time in the individual athletics section. Everyone applauded the performances, and the excitement for Day 2 was palpable as the day ended with aplomb. The Sports team ended, Day 1 with a bang leaving us all cheerful and tired but maintaining enough excitement for everyone to look forward to Day 2 of the event.
Day 2 : 11th December 2021
The second day of Sangram 7.0 - The Ultimate Battle- began ecstatically as the football match started with a beautiful sunrise by our side. The seniors opened their Day 2 account with a win. The team members were Kevin, Heet, Ram, Rahul, Rohan, Vishal, Vivek, Sahil, Sayash.
The second Team sport, Basketball, was a close call but was again won by the Senior team of Jasraj, Anirudh, Govind, Santosh, Vishal, Shivam, and Mannat. The Badminton match followed, wherein the juniors had the upper hand and played for their dignity. The boy's singles were won by Govind and Ram, while the girl's singles were won by Jyotsana and Pooja. The mixed doubles round had Abhishek and Jyotsana finally sealing the victory for Junior's team in one sport.
The later part of the day had the semi-finals and finals of BCL being thoroughly enjoyed by the players and audiences, with Hilltop Poseidon's emerging as the ultimate champions whose owner was Ashi and manager was Deeksha. The players were Aakriti, Muskan, Siddharth, Rutvi, Shivam, Shravan, Shreyas and Soham.
Our director, Dr. Manisha Ketkar Ma'am, graced both the batches with her presence at the closing ceremony and distributed medals to all the winners. The two-day intense event was a much-needed opportunity for everyone to get along and an excellent motivation for the students as they officially began their on-campus journey.
SANGRAAM 6.0
Sangram 6.0 – the flagship sports event of SSBF was held on 4th February. Amidst the pleasant springtime, the heat of excitement rose to the zenith. The tagline for this year was “The Ultimate Faceoff”.
Students and faculty got to showcase their talent in Squash, Football, Basketball, Badminton, Throwball, Cricket, Discuss and Kho-Kho. For the first time ever, a Sport Quiz Contest was included in Sangram, that tested participants on sports facts and knowledge.
The Box Cricket League, an IPL style cricket tournament, was undoubtedly the biggest attraction of the event. It was played between ten teams over three days. Unlike other games where juniors and seniors competed against each other, the teams were a mix of both batches.
The first Day of the event started with a bang. Faculty BCL was won by Team Don against Team Gama by 54 runs. Simultaneously in badminton, for boys, juniors took the title and for girls, the seniors beat the juniors. In squash, Seniors Boys won the match by 2-1. The juniors hit back with a win in discuss throw. Hence it was a tie.
Day 2 began with vibes of sportsmanship and zeal. In basketball and throw ball, the seniors girls ruled and won by 28-4 and 2-0 respectively. This was compensated by the junior cricket team who beat their seniors by a shocking 139 runs. In the end it was the seniors who won Sangram 6.0. Day 3 was all about BCL semi-finals and final. Team Gabbar with their cricket skills, team work and dedication, beat every other team to win the much valued trophy. The students and the spectators turned up in large numbers to support their teams and enjoy the spirit and essence of sports and sportsmanship.
The entire credit of organizing the event goes to the Sports Committee of SSBF who was responsible for execution of the entire event, right from planning the events and garnering sponsorship, to engaging in the hospitality of players and spectators.
SSBF boasts of excellent sports infrastructure. Sports activities are widely encouraged at SSBF. As the grand sporting event came to an end, the sense of excitement was palpable in the air- excitement that translated into action, as teams put in their blood, sweat and tears on the big day. Blazing ambition coupled with relentless determination has always been a lethal combination, which was witnessed in Sangram 6.0. It was much evident that healthy competition, laced with tons of fun- that’s what Sangram was all about!
SANGRAAM 5.0
On the 25th of January, the sports committee of SSBF successfully concluded their flagship event Sangram 5.0. It was flagged off by Dr. Manisha Ketkar, Director, SSBF on 23rd. The tagline of the event was “Battle between the best”. And it truly was. The senior and junior batches competed fiercely across various games like cricket, football, badminton, throwball, volleyball and basketball over the span of three days.
It wasn’t just the students who participated; there was active participation from the faculty and non-teaching staff too. They were neck and neck with the students in various events, which made the event even more interesting.

Overall, the event was a huge success. It reiterated the fact that life at SSBF isn’t all about academics. The focus is on overall development of a student. The purpose of the event isn’t just to serve as a source of recreation for the students but also to inculcate values like team spirit, cooperation, etc and the sports committee goes an extra mile every year to ensure that the purpose is served.
SANGRAAM 4.0
SANGRAAM is an annual intra-institute event organised by the Sports Committee of Symbiosis School of Banking and Finance, usually where the junior and the senior batch participate in a variety of sports ranging from Badminton to Volleyball to Cricket to Basketball. Everyone, including the students, the faculty as well as the staff, looks forward to playing in Sangram every year, not only because it provides a break from the mundane routine of classes, presentations and projects but also because it refreshes our minds, help us enhance or maintain our physical health and also to get to know each other outside of the college environment.
