Collaboration with TISS
We have signed an MOU with Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) for the content development of the Certificate and Diploma Programme in Banking and Finance under their National University Students' Skill Development (NUSSD) programme.
A meeting to review the course developed by us was organised by TISS. There were experts from BFSI who meticulously went through the proposed courses. There were discussions on the objective of each course and the course structure was finalised. These courses will be offered in three states namely Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
SSBF has associated with Ladli Foundation, a non-profit NGO which is well known for implementing highly impactful and innovative social initiatives for the upliftment of the vulnerable sections of the society. The organisation was granted special consultative status in the United Nations and has received a National Award from the Government of India for serving over 1 million beneficiaries. The institutional collaboration aims to extend financial education and soft skill training for the beneficiaries. Further SSBF would undertake impact assessments for gauging the effectiveness of the interventions. The objective is to encourage students for societal engagements, sharpen leadership and decision making skills.
AIWMI & SSBF have a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the Academic Partnership in the pursuit of empowering students in their career. The students get an opportunity to prepare for any of the AIWMI Certification Programs during their regular MBA program at the Institution itself, owning to integration in curriculum with various other opportunities like student membership, assistance for internship opportunities, industry-academia interaction etc. under the MoU.
GIEOM is a global technology company providing software products and solutions in the areas of Operational Excellence, Standard Operating Procedure Digitization, Operational Training, Risk Management, and others in the Financial Services domain. GIEOM has a repository of around 800 best practices on Business Processes from banks around the globe. They have over 50 Financial Institutions as their customers out of which 16 banks are in India. Some of the existing clients of GIEOM are Yes Bank, Utkarsh Bank, India Post Payments Bank etc.
SSBF has collaboration with GIEOM as part of industry academia collaboration for the financial services software solutions blueprint which can be embedded in the curriculum (using GIEOM as a tool for process led classroom sessions) in different semesters through two years’ time period. The blueprint of the processes / Operating procedures will support students to understand the process flows of different functions / processes of varied financial products. The software is important for Financial Research, MDPs and Consultancy projects.
In addition to the license, it also provides e learning resources of various product offerings of the BFSI sector. It would also encourage student participation in events, workshops and would also sponsor cash prizes. This would help our students in following ways:
- To prepare for interviews for various profiles
- To seek clarifications on the topics covered as well as which are not covered in the class
- It would also help students to better prepare for other certification courses in BFSI sector
Bloomberg is an integral part of the teaching pedagogy at SSBF. It is used widely for teaching and evaluation for a spectrum of courses. The database provides a real time environment wherein students have access to the real time data which assist them in assessing various scenarios, financial markets for analysis and drawing inferences. Students are encouraged to participate in the Global Trading Challenge which provides them a platform to understand the global markets and to compete with the global universities. Further the database is extensively used by students and faculties for research activities.
NSDL Certification in Capital Market Program was aligned with the curriculum to provide students a deep understanding on the practical aspects of capital markets. The program was of 30 hours duration which covered the functionalities and the operational aspects of capital market, its products, stock selection based on fundamental and technical analysis and debt market. The certification program was undertaken under the industry academia initiative, the objective was to hone the problem solving skills of the students as an antecedent for employability in the financial markets.
