Outbound Program
Outbound 2022-24
"Connecting The Dots" was organized by SSBF on Friday, June 17th 2022. It was to check students’ performance on individual as well as group parameters. It involved many activities in the form of games that were used to check a student's capacity to take on different scenarios. Different games were conducted by different faculties who measured each student’s performance on several parameters. It was scheduled from 9:30am in the morning to 4:30pm in the evening.
Surrounded by tranquil nature, Adventure Plus Resort islocated in Taluka Bhor, and quite known for its adventurous activities.
114 SSBF students participated in the activity, in which 6 groups were formed. each group had 20 members, with the last group having 14 members. The overall goal of the organized activities was to ensure that students understand how to perform cohesively as a team and how to have a good sense of time management. The students participated in the following activities:
The first game was "changing the series," in which each student was provided with one cardboard and one extra cardboard. All participants were asked to stand on their respective cardboards in ascending order according to their PRN numbers, and they had to switch into their places in descending order within a time bound of 10 minutes. The team with the shortest time period will win the game. The goal of the game was to plan a strategy and complete the task as quickly as possible and to stay consistent with the strategies planted at the start.
The next game was "bridging the gap," in which participants were asked to form a cue balancing balloons between every two persons without the use of hands. They must get to the check point and return to the start point. The group that completes the task in the shortest amount of time wins. The students learned to be patient, and the proverb "slow and steady wins the race" was applied accurately.
Post to which the students played "balancing the ball," in which the students were divided into groups of 4 again in each team and asked to hold the ball with the sketch-pen and drop it into a bucket. The game is won by the group with the most balls dropped into the bucket. Team work is essential for any task to be successfully completed, was the motive behind this game.
The students were ranked and then accordingly divided into two groups in each team on the basis of odd and even numbers in another activity called "busting out the balloons." the team with odd numbers was in competition with the team with even numbers. Initially, the balls were tied to the pupils' ankles, and they were instructed to burst the balls of the other team members without using their hands. The overall goal of the activity was to have a combination of efficiency and seeking opportunities at the right time.
There was a "filling the bucket" game in which the students were divided into two groups and had to stand in a cue and pass the water through the cups. The student in the front can't look back while pouring water into the person in back of him. The last person had to load the water from his cup into the bucket. The game is won by the team with the most water poured in the bucket. The primary goal of the activity was to encourage students to be good listeners and to carefully follow the directions given to them by the other members.
"Forming The Pattern" was an activity in which the students were asked to pass the ball to their members in such a way that they were not supposed to pass it on to their consecutive partners. This cycle was repeated twice, followed by another cycle in reverse pattern, and the team that completed the task in the minimum time period won the game. The students learned the importance of maintaining concentration and how to do their work effectively.
"Have Faith In Your Fellow" partners were formed in this game where one partner was blind folded and the other partner had to give the directions without saying anything. The overall goal was to have trust in your partner and keep coordination throughout the game.
"Find The Props" - in this task, a cue was formed, and everyone was blind-folded except one, and the person without the blindfolds gave the direction without speaking by making their own strategies. The person in front had to pick up props kept in different locations, and the team that completed the task in the less time period won the game. The goal of this task was to trust your members and stay calm and composed while completing any task.
Getting off the loop - the students were asked to hold hand in team and a ring was provided for them to pass through without leaving their hands. The students learned the message "Unity is Strength" from this activity.
"Take me to the other side" was a game in which students were given 4 cardboards and told to place them on the ground and move on them in such a way that the students had to start from one side and reach the other end without keeping their feet on the ground. The students' learning through this task was breaking complex tasks into parts and steps and then implementing the plan according.

We had a great time Kayaking,it was fun trying to understand the nuances of steering a Kayak. At night, after an appetizing dinner, we sat around a campfire, relaxed, and told each other horror stories.
Next morning, we went to see Bhatghar Dam, which is an amazing piece of British-era engineering. View of the surrounding hills from the reservoir was breathtaking.
After coming back to the resort, we had group activities lined up, arranged by SSBF faculty. Firstly, we had a group relay race, in which groups had to compete against one another.
