Induction

The Induction Programme for the Batch of 2026–2028 was thoughtfully designed to acquaint incoming students with the values, culture, and ethos of Symbiosis School of Banking and Finance. Centered around the theme, “Digitalization of Financial Services: The Future Roadmap,” the programme sought to provide students with insights into the transformative impact of digitalization on the financial sector and the ways in which financial institutions are adapting to an increasingly technology-driven environment, particularly with the emergence of Artificial Intelligence.

The programme featured interactions and sessions with representatives from apex regulators and leading organizations within the Indian financial ecosystem, including PFRDA, Indian Clearing Corporation Limited, The Wealth Company, HDFC AMC, Tata Capital, and Deloitte India, among others. These sessions offered students valuable exposure to contemporary developments, industry practices, and emerging opportunities in the financial services sector. The impact of technology in finance was highlighted throughout the programme with speakers elaborating on its effect in pension, capital markets, AI, AML and compliance, risk management, cyber risk management, and quant investing to name a few.

Recognizing that professional success extends beyond academic excellence, the Induction Programme also emphasized the holistic development of students. It included sessions on Management Lessons from the Gita, soft skills, campus-to-corporate transition, professional etiquette, emotional wellness, body language, grooming, yoga, Zumba, and an outbound learning programme aimed at fostering personal growth and well-being.

Beyond introducing students to the world of finance, the programme served as an effective platform for building connections, encouraging teamwork, and fostering a spirit of friendship and camaraderie among the incoming batch. These experiences laid the foundation for a supportive learning environment and helped students develop interpersonal skills that will prove invaluable throughout their academic and professional journeys.

Symbiosis School of Banking and Finance Pune welcomes the batch of 2023-25. It's excellent to interact with a fresh, vibrant, and talented bunch of students on campus.

We had Mr. Srinath Sridharan - Author, Advisor, Coach, Transformation Enabler, who spoke on "What's new for India's Flourishing Fintech Sector". He enlightened the students on the various avenues of Fintech as a sector and how one may navigate their career through this dynamic industry.

We had Ms. Preeti Gaglani Saraf - Career Coach, Motivational Speaker, Emotional Intelligence, Brand and Communication Strategist who addressed the students on the topic "Emotional Quotient". She emphasized on stress management and the methods the new generation can adapt to overcome stress. She urged the students to identify how they react to situations and understand their emotional quotient.

Next, we had Swami Bimal Sud Bamsi Gopal - Motivational Speaker and Member of ISKCON to address the students on "Management Lessons from Bhagavatgita". He shared a number of lessons for success in life. He guided the students to avoid distractions and procrastination to add value to their lives.

Mr. Prakash Rohera, Director,The Redwood Edge gave a motivational speech to our students. Not only the students but each person present in the room was inspired by his thoughts and were motivated. He stated about Mindset, Belief, Aspiration (MBA) which we believe all our students will follow & it is a key takeaway which will help the students throughout his journey.

Emotional wellbeing is crucial for leading a satisfying and productive life, as it impacts various aspects such as decision-making, interpersonal interactions, and overall quality of life. Nurturing emotional wellbeing involves self-awareness, self-care, and seeking support when needed. And to talk on the same we invited the Head of SCEW i.e Symbiosis Centre for Emotional Wellbeing Dr Girija Mahale. She is a Consultant Psychiatrist- MD from KEM hospital, Mumbai and fellowship from Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry.

Mr. Saurabh Arora, National Lead Digital Business, HDFC Mutual Fund was invited to take a session on Changing Landscape of Industry. He talked on how Fintech has facilitated the rise of personalized financial planning and investment platforms, offering tailored solutions and automated advice. As Fintech continues to evolve, it is expected to shape the future of finance, fuelling economic growth, and driving financial inclusion on a global scale.

12th June 2023

Dr. Yogesh Brahmankar Head, SCEI was invited to take a session on Entrepreneurship & innovation. To sum up the session he talked about how Entrepreneurship is the spirit of venturing into the unknown, taking risks, and transforming ideas into reality. He gave an insight about the SCEI Incubation centre and the support they provide to build young startups.

Mr. Sheetal from SIU Library took a session on how to access the library and the contents & books availability. The procedures, rules & regulations that are to be followed for issuing any books or online contents.

Ms. Spurti Sushil was invited to take a session on how to create an impactful LinkedIn profile to make the students’ profiles look corporate ready. It was indeed an interesting session as students learned new ways of making their profiles attractive to the recruiters in this hands-on session.

Outbound Activity

13th June 2023

Outbound training is an extremely effective tool for building high performance teams. To re-energize teams and build stronger bonds SSBF organized outbound training and learning session for the batch 2023-25 on 13th June 2023.

This exercise results in self-discovery and team bonding, brings enthusiasm and raises their self-esteem and pride. The outbound learning session was conducted by Department of Sports Recreation and Wellness (DSRW) of SIU.

Symbiosis School of Banking and Finance Pune organized an Induction Program for the batch of 2023-25. Mr. Ninad Nawaghare, VP of the Ethics Office, and Head of the Digital Forensic Lab at HDFC Bank Ltd., discussed cyber security and digital frauds, highlighting contemporary challenges and preventive measures. Post-lunch, Mr. Abhishant Pant, Founder of The Fintech Meetup, shared insights on the future of the BFSI industry, emphasizing Fintech as a transformative force. Finally, Mr. Ram Iyer, Founder and CEO of VYANA, shared his entrepreneurial journey and the challenges of building businesses in the Fintech space. On 5th June, 2024 again a series of insightful events were conducted at SSBF, starting with a briefing on the Disciplinary Code of Conduct by Mrs. Shubhadha Deshpande, Admin. Officer, and Brig. Ratnaparkhi, Campus Admin. Dr. Deepika Krishnan and Mr. Amit, Information Officer, then guided participants on a Heritage Walk. Mr. Ashish Pimley, DVP- Sales and Strategy at HDFC AMC Ltd., delivered a session on "Dus ka Dum – 10 Building Blocks for Viksit India," followed by Dr. Renuka Mukadam, POSH Consultant, who led a session on Gender Sensitization. Post-lunch, Dr. Jyoti Kappal, Associate Professor of Practice, discussed career prospects in the BFSI sector, and the day concluded with a session on College Health Education by the SUHRC department. 06th June 2024: Pune Heritage Walk

The historical places in Pune are a great tribute to the grandeur of the Maratha rulers and ancient Indians who lived here. One can learn a lot about the history and culture of ancient India by observing these monuments, such as the famous Aga Khan Palace, Shaniwar Wada, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Museum etc. Symbiosis School of Banking and Finance Pune (Official) has organized a Heritage Walk/Pune Darshan for the batch of 2024-26 on 6th June 2024 as a part of the induction program. Students enjoyed and learned about the city of the Maratha Empire.
