The Placement Cell at SSBF provides a platform for students seeking recruitments to interact with possible recruiters on the campus. It coordinates the placement process on campus and ensures a smooth process guided by a given set of rules and principles.
The Placement Committee warmly invites corporate firms, banks, research organizations, government institutions and non-government institutions to be a part of the Placement Process at Symbiosis School Of Banking & Finance.
The aim of summer internship is to widen the student’s perspective and to help them understand the real life implications of the theoretical frameworks related to financial sector. It gives the students an opportunity to appreciate the organizational situations.
Placement Assistance Committee’s (PAC) aim through Summer Internship Recruitment Programme (SIRP) is to assist the students seeking projects, learning profiles in various Banking and Financial Sector Industries (BFSI) as per the guidelines laid down by the institution vis a vis summer internships. BFSI includes all the public sector banks (SBI, BOB, BOI, IDBI etc.), private sector banks (ICICI, Axis, HDFC, etc.), Foreign banks (HSBC, Deutsche, etc.) and other non banking financial companies (NBFCs). NBFCs also include Financial consulting firms, Investment firms, Insurance companies and others. Students are also given guidance on the process related to internships at Government of India Undertakings like RBI, NABARD, DEA.
The process generally starts in the month of November-December. Selection is typically based on the written tests, student write ups, GDs, and personal interview as per the requirements of the Company interested to absorb students from the institution.
Students are evaluated by the company executives based on the parameters defined by the institution. Further the students are evaluated by the faculty from the institute and graded for the credits assigned for the summer internship project.
SSBF has on-campus placement process conducted annually, which is supervised by the Faculty Placement Coordinator and coordinated by the student elected Placement Committee. The placement process begins with Pre-Placement talks by companies, usually scheduled between the months of October and November. The Pre-Placement talks are followed by the Final Placement Process.
Interaction and Pre-Placement Talks
Organizations are formally invited to participate in the placement process. Recruiters visit the campus for delivering Pre-Placement talks to the students. The talks are interactive sessions broadly covering a wide spectrum of aspects like company profile, core values, job descriptions, career growth plan, selection procedure and emoluments offered. The companies would submit the 'Recruitment Form' with details of job offerings during this phase.
Final Placement Process
The Final Placement Process marks the culmination of the annual placement process wherein candidates, irrespective of their nature of their prior work experience, participate. Companies visit the campus. All logistics and infrastructural support required for the selection process of various companies would be provided by the Institute. This process is usually scheduled in the second week of November.
